Hamilton County Conservation Board faces busy agenda during April meeting.

At their recent meeting the Hamilton County Conservation Board accepted a gift from Chip and Jackie Abbott of Webster City of three 85-inch television sets for the Briggs Woods Golf Course clubhouse. The sets will be used for golfers and visitors to the course to watch sporting events.

Last Friday evening, there was a kickoff event for the Briggs Woods golf season which was a well-attended event. This was the first time that the course held a kickoff at Briggs Woods since the COVID pandemic in 2020.  Many local businesses donated prizes with the funds raised to help purchase a new golf simulator at Briggs Woods. The evening featured a raffle and a silent auction. Conservation director Brian Lammers and the staff thanked everyone for their support.

Zach Wesselink is back as a park ranger at Briggs Woods Park in Webster City. He was away for 16 weeks of training with the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in Johnston. He will return to the park on Tuesday,April 29th.

The Hamilton County Conservation Board approved the Pleasant Hill Community Electric Line at their meeting last Thursday,April 24th . This is for the abandonment for a high voltage electric line at Briggs Woods Park. The line is currently used for solar production purposes.

The next meeting for the Hamilton County Conservation Board will be held on Thursday,May 22 at 9:30 a.m. at the Hamilton County Conservation Office in Briggs Woods Park south of Webster City.
