
The body of an Iowa Falls man was recovered Friday night in the Iowa River. The name of the man was identified as 34-year-old Levi Mentz of Iowa Falls. A call was received to the Hardin County Communications Center late last Friday morning on a male subject was in the Iowa River in Iowa Falls. It was reported that Mentz had become separated from the kayak that he had been in. Authorities began an extensive search along the river. The body of Mentz was recovered at 10:53 p.m. Friday night. The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by numerous agencies in the rescue effort through the day into the evening in the search efforts.
