Webster City girls tennis bounces back against Hampton-Dumont-CAL, 9-0

The Webster City Lynx girls tennis team returned to action on Tuesday, as they hosted the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 4-4, while HD-CAL entered at 0-7.

Junior Allie Severe earned a hard-fought 2-0 (6-2, 7-6) win to open the meet, as Olivia Gallentine had a convincing 2-0 win, followed by a hard fought Morgan Hackbarth 2-0 (6-3, 6-1) win. Alivia Burns, Cyra Christensen and Gabbie Sebert would cruise to 2-0 victories to put the Lynx up 6-0 headed into doubles.

Allie Severe and Alivia Burns battle for a hard-earned 2-0 (6-2, 7-6) decision to open doubles. This was followed by convincing 2-0 wins by the teams of Olivia Gallentine and Morgan Hackbarth, as well as Cyra Christensen and Gabbie Sebert to seal a 9-0 win for the Lynx.

Webster City girls tennis returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Saydel to take on the Eagles in non-conference action at Saydel High School at 4:15 PM.
