Roland-Story, South Hamilton boys golf compete in 18-Hole Tournament in Story City

The Roland-Story Norsemen and South Hamilton Hawks boys golf teams returned to action on Tuesday, as Roland-Story hosted an 18-hole tournament at River Bend Golf Course in Story City. The Norsemen and Hawks were joined by Des Moines Christian, North Polk, West Marshall and Woodward-Granger.

Roland-Story placed 4th with a team score of 322 (+34), as their top placer was senior Braylen Loots, who finished 6th with a 77 (+5). Senior Jack Birkland tied for 10th with a 79 (+7), while junior Hayden Eslick and sophomore Ryan Fisher tied for 18th as each shot 83’s (+11).

South Hamilton placed 5th with a team score of 323 (+35), as their top placer was senior Landon Sogard, who tied for 10th with a 79 (+7). Senior Connor Deppe placed 14th by shooting an 80 (+8), junior Luke Martensen was 15th by shooting an 81 (+9), while junior Michael Carlson tied for 18th by shooting an 83 (+11).

North Polk would win the meet with a 309 (+21), South Hamilton boys golf returns to action on Monday, when they travel to Fort Dodge to take on St. Edmond in non-conference action at Lakeside Municipal Golf Course. Roland-Story boys golf returns to action on Saturday, when they compete in the Bob Schmadeke Invitational at Town & Country Golf Club in Grundy Center at 8 AM.
