Webster City boys golf competes in Bill Chambers Invitational in Spencer

The Webster City Lynx boys golf team returned to action on Monday, as they made the trip into the Iowa Great Lakes Region to compete in the annual Bill Chambers Invitational at Spencer Golf and Country Club. The Lynx were joined by the host Tigers, as well as Algona, Carroll, Cherokee, Clear Lake, Denison-Schleswig, Emmetsburg, Estherville-Lincoln Central, Harlan, Humboldt, Kuemper Catholic, Spirit Lake and Western Christian.

Webster City would tie for 8th on Monday with a team score of 331 (+43), tying with Estherville-Lincoln Central and Spirit Lake. Cael Nixon and Luke Firsching would tie for the top score amongst Lynx golfers, as the two tied for 13th by a shooting 79’s (+7). Dawson Bertran would place in a tie for 44th with an 85 (+13), as Coyce Bertran rounded out scoring with an 88 (+14), tying him with teammate Cole Miller as well.

Webster City boys golf returns to action on Tuesday, when they travel Clear Lake to compete in an NCC tri-meet with the Lions and Humboldt at Veterans Memorial Golf Club, beginning at 4:30 PM.
