High speed chase in Webster County Monday afternoon.

On Monday, April 21st 2025 at approximately 12:30 pm, the Fort Dodge Police Department was in pursuit of a Toyota Camry that had been reported stolen. The Iowa State Patrol assisted with the pursuit which left Fort Dodge and continued eastbound on US 20 with the suspect vehicle crossing the roadway into oncoming traffic, going the wrong way, eastbound in the westbound lanes with speeds in excess of 100 mph. Troopers made vehicle contact to end the pursuit and the suspect vehicle became disabled in the median of US 20 near Duncombe. The driver (15 year old male) fled on foot but was soon apprehended. Another passenger in the vehicle (13 year old female) was also taken into custody.
Due to the suspects being juveniles, the names of those involved are not being released at this time. The Webster County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa DNR also assisted with the pursuit. Fort Dodge Fire & Rescue was dispatched to the scene, however no serious injuries were reported.
