Carlson ties school record for Roland-Story in South Hamilton tri

The South Hamilton Hawks and Roland-Story Norsemen girls golf teams returned to action on Thursday, as they were joined by West Marshall for a Heart of Iowa Conference tri-meet at Jewell Golf and Country Club.

Roland-Story won the meet with a team score of 173 (+29) as junior Brinley Carlson tied a school-record by shooting a 36 (E) on Thursday and won the individual title. Senior Brooke Thompson would shoot a 43 (+7), Isabel Hoskins would shoot a 46 (+10), as Eva Corcoran rounded out scoring with a 48 (+12).

South Hamilton placed 3rd with a team score of 251 (+107) as junior Arynn Luppes was the top scorer with a 58 (+22). Fellow junior Sophie Nibe would shoot a 63 (+27), sophomore Grace Larson shot a 64 (+28), as junior Ava Corbin shot a 66 (+30) to round out scoring.

Roland-Story girls golf returns to action on Monday, when they compete in an 18-hole tournament at Fox Ridge Golf Course in Dike. South Hamilton girls golf returns to action on Monday when they compete in a tournament at Terrace Hills Golf Course in Altoona.
