
The Webster City Lynx and Roland-Story Norsemen boys track teams returned to action on Tuesday, as they made the trip to Webster County to compete in Southeast Valley Invitational at the Southeast Valley Athletic Complex in Gowrie. The Lynx and Norsemen were joined by the host Jaguars, as well as Gilbert, Glidden-Ralston, G-T/R-A, Madrid, Manson-Northwest Webster, Ogden, Paton-Churdan, Pocahontas Area and West Bend-Mallard.
Webster City was the meet champion, winning with 132 points and claiming a handful of winners. Gabe Thumma started by winning the 3200m run in a time of 11:38, followed by the Lynx 4×800 winning in a season-best time of 8:50.70 with the team of Murillo Delfin-Barner-Mickelson-Callahan. Jayden Weinzetl would then win the 100m dash in a personal-best time of 10.95 seconds, before Jaxon Griffith won the 110m high hurdles in a personal-best time of 15.31 seconds. Jayden Weinzetl would follow by winning the 200m dash in a time of 23.15 seconds, as Justin Callahan followed by getting the Lynx their final win of the night in the 400m hurdles, winning in a time of 57.99 seconds. Beau Nohrenberg would place 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 42′ 8.75″, while Cole Nohrenberg finished 3rd in the discus with a throw of 128′ 6″, as the Lynx sprint medley placed 2nd in a time of 1:44 with the team of Griffith-Hrnicek-Weinzetl-Hansen.
Roland-Story placed 2nd with 117 points on Tuesday and would come away with a couple of victories, first coming in the shuttle hurdle in a time of 1:01.68 with the quartet of Berggren-Barber-Strum-Long. Corbin Lucchesi would then win the 1600m run in a time of 4:47.93 for the final Norsemen win of the night. Cody Long would finish 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 19′ 6.75″, before the distance medley placed 2nd in a time of 4:11.50 with the quartet of Nerem-Kilstofte-Dahlsten-Healy. Tristen Crabbs would place 2nd in the 200m dash in a time of 23.22, before the Norsemen 4×100 placed 2nd in a time of 44.76 with the team of Carlson-McIlrath-Berggren-Crabbs.
Webster City and Roland-Story boys track return to action on Thursday, when they travel to Des Moines to compete in the Saydel Invitational at Saydel High School.
