South Hamilton, Eagle Grove and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys golf compete in tri-meet in Eagle Grove

The South Hamilton Hawks, Eagle Grove Eagles and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys golf teams returned to action on Tuesday, as the three schools met for a tri-meet at the Eagle Grove Golf Course.

South Hamilton walked away as the meet winner with a team score of 180 (+34). Junior Luke Martensen was the individual champion with a 43 (+7), while fellow juniors Sam Koehnk and Brody Harris each finished with 45’s (+9). Landon Sogard rounded out scoring with a 47 (+11).

Eagle Grove finished 2nd with a team score of 190 (+44), as their top scorer was Gracen Chamberlain, who shot a 45 (+9). Brett Ascherl and Zach Hoegreff would each shoot 46’s (+10), as Andrew Robinson rounded out scoring with a 53 (+17).

Clarion-Goldfield Dows would finish 3rd with a score of 192 (+46), as their top scorer was senior Caleb Seaba, who shot a 47 (+11). Freshman Jacob Ruba and Junior Tristan Kakacek both shot 48’s (+12), while freshman Teddy Yackle rounded out scoring with a 49 (+13).

South Hamilton boys golf returns to action on Friday, when they compete in a 9-hole tournament at Ames Golf and Country Club hosted by Gilbert. CGD Boys golf returns on Momday, when they host Southeast Valley at Oak Ridge Golf Course at 4 PM, while Eagle Grove boys golf returns on Tuesday, when they compete in a TOI meet at Britt Golf Course in Britt.
