
The Roland-Story Norsemen girls track team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the trip south into Boone County to compete in the annual Madrid Girls Invitational at Randy Hinkel Field in Madrid. The Norsemen were joined by the host Tigers, as well as Boone, Central Decatur, East Marshall, North Polk and Ogden.
Roland-Story would emerge as the meet champions with 127 points and had a number of winners on Tuesday. Adalyn Sporleder started the day with a win in the long jump with a mark of 17′ 2″, before the Norsemen won the sprint medley in a time of 1:56.36 with the team of Sporleder-Petersen-Kam Lande-Karsyn Lande. Roland-Story then won the 4×800 in a time of 10:57.81 with the team of Johnson-Larson-Ziegler-Truesdell, as the Norsemen followed by winning the shuttle hurdle in a time of 1:08.33 with the team of Jondle-Lucas-Rechkemmer-Helgeson. Another relay win came in the distance medley, as Roland-Story won in a time of 4:37.78 with the quartet of Reitano-Willis-Johnson-Kar. Lande, before the Norsemen won the 4×200 in a time of 1:48.22 with the team of Sporleder-Petersen-Jondle-Kam Lande. Roland-Story’s final win came in the 4×400, coming in a time of 4:24.63 with the team of Lucas-Johnson-Petersen-Karsyn Lande.
Roland-Story girls track returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to LeGrand to compete in the East Marshal Girls Invitational, beginning at 4:30 PM.
