
The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls and Eagle Grove Eagles girls track teams returned to action on Tuesday, as Clarion-Goldfield-Dows hosted their annual Cowgirl Relays at the Clarion Football Field. The Cowgirls and Eagles were joined by by Belmond-Klemme, Forest City, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Iowa Falls-Alden, North Iowa, Pocahontas Area, St. Edmond, West Fork and West Hancock.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows was 4th with 184 points, as their lone winner was senior MaKayla Beisel in the high jump, clearing 5′ 4″, while also winning the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:09.61. Beisel would finish 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 15′ 8″, before placing 2nd in the 100m hurdles in a time of 16.16 seconds. Jacqueline Kirstein would place 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 31′ 3″, while Elliot Ennis was 4th in 30′ 11″. CGD’s 4×800 was 4th in a time of 12:32.68 with the team of Perez-Hoesing-Bobadilla-Charlson, while Harley Charlson was 4th in the 800m run in a time of 2:54.76. The shuttle hurdle team was 4th in a time of 1:25.16 with the team of Schaffer-Poac-Tijull-Engstrom.
Eagle Grove would place 5th with 174 points, as their lone winner was senior Addy Jeske with a mark of 16′ 3″. The Eagles sprint medley placed 3rd in a time of 2:08.79 with the team of H. Anderson-Flores-Morgan-M. Anderson, while their 4×200 was also 3rd in a time of 1:56.97 with the team of Jeske-Morgan-Lenning-Edwards. Eagle Grove’s 4×100 would be 3rd in a time of 55.20 with the team of Jeske-Morgan-Lenning-Edwards, while their 4×400 would also be 3rd in a time of 4:44.34 with the team of Miller-M. Anderson-Jeske-Lenning. Taytum Edwards would be 4th in the 200m dash in a time of 28.26 seconds.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls track returns to action on Tuesday, when they travel to Garner to compete in the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura girls meet at 4:30 PM. Eagle Grove girls track returns to action on Thursday, when they compete in the Manson-Northwest Webster Co-Ed at 4:30 PM.
