The intersection of Highway 175 and Dewitt Street in Ellsworth was the location of an accident shortly before 1 Monday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol reported a southbound 2012 model Chevrolet Impala driven by Carol Ann Lemon of Webster City was traveling south on Dewitt Street when her vision was obscured by a John Deere tractor-sprayer and continued through a stop sign.A westbound 2018 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck operated by Brandon Heidt of Jewell tried to brake to avoid an impact. The Heidt truck struck the rear tire to the car Lemon was driving. The Heidt pickup came to rest in the grass corner of the intersection while the car Lemon was driving came to rest in a gravel lot across the road. The Ellsworth EMS ambulance transported Lemon to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames for treatment of her injuries. Heidt was not injured in the accident. Both the Heidt and Lemon vehicles were totaled in Monday’s accident.
