
The Webster City Lynx girls soccer team returned to action on Thursday night, as they hosted the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Lynx Field at Webster City High School. Webster City entered at 0-2, while Hampton-Dumont-CAL entered at 0-2-1.
The first half would be a slow one, as Webster City managed to tally a goal in the opening 40 minutes and led 1-0 at halftime. However, the 2nd half saw the lid explode off the Lynx offense, netting 5 goals in the frame as Webster City cruised to a 6-0 victory.
Junior Janey Putney had a stellar day by finishing with a hat trick, while goals were added by sophomore Elena De Leon Raymundo, junior Heidi Mendoza and senior Mia Hansen. Hansen also tallied two assists in the match as well, as goalkeeper Kate Feltz only needed 2 saves on the day.
Webster City girls soccer returns to action on Monday, when they travel to Belmond to take on the Wright County Broncos at Belmond-Klemme High School at 5:30 PM.
