The Roland-Story Norsemen boys and girls track teams returned to action on Thursday evening, as they made the trip across Story County to compete at the Nevada Co-Ed Meet at Nevada High School. The Norsemen were joined by the host Cubs, as well as Carroll, Clear Lake, Creston, Forest City, Grand View Christian, Grinnell, Nevada, North Polk.
Roland-Story’s girls placed 2nd with 137 points, as the Norsemen came away with a number of winners on Thursday. Adalyn Sporleder would win the long jump with a mark of 17′ 6.25″, before the shuttle hurdle won in a time of 1:12.98 with the team of Rechkemmer-Lucas-Scarrow-Helgeson. The Norsemen then won the distance medley in a time of 4:42.23 with the team of Reitano-Willis-Johnson-Karsyn Lande, as Kam Lande won the 400m dash in a time of 59.94. Lande would follow up by winning the 200m dash in a time of 26.34. Kara Patterson would place 2nd in the 3000m run in a time of 12:17.35, before Adalyn Sporleder placed 2nd in the 100m dash in a time of 12.97. Kennedy Peterson then placed 2nd in the 400m dash in a time of 1:04.30.
Roland-Story’s boys would place 5th with 101 points as the Norsemen came away with a couple of wins. The shuttle hurdle relay would in a season-best time of 1:02.81 with the team of Berggren-Long-Barber-Strum, as Jayden Strum then won the 110m high hurdles in a time of 15.27. Corbin Lucchesi was 2nd in the 800m run in a time of 2:09.87, as well as the 3200m run in a time of 10:45.03. Cody Long was 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 20′ 10.25″, while the 4×200 placed 2nd in a time of 1:33.41 with the team of Carlson-Crabbs-Fosse-McIlrath. Jayden Strum placed 3rd in a time of 1:00.77, as Evan Voga placed 3rd in the 1600m run in a time of 4:56.87. The Norsemen then placed 3rd in the 4×800 in a time of 9:16.43 with the team of Voga-Dahlsten-Johnson-Willis.
Roland-Story boys track returns to action on Monday, when they run at the Southeast Valley Invite in Gowrie at 4:30 PM. Roland-Story girls track returns to action on Tuesday, when they compete at the Madrid Invitational at 4:30 PM.
