
The Eagle Grove Eagles, Webster City Lynx and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowgirls track teams returned to action on Thursday night, as Eagle Grove hosted the Lady Eagle Relays at Gene Hinrichsen Field. The 3 area schools were joined by Algona, Bishop Garrigan, Fort Dodge, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Newman Catholic, St. Edmond and West Hancock.
Webster City would place 5th in the meet with 57 points, as their top placer was Adysen Poppen in the shot put, who placed 2nd with a throw of 34′ 4.25″, while Cloe Savitski was 2nd in the 200m dash in a time of 27.57. Amanda Lahr was 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 34′ 1.75″. The Lynx 4×800 would place 3rd in a time of 12:22.09 with the team of Reed-Soesbe-L. VanDeer-Santiago, as Webster City then placed 3rd in the shuttle hurdle relay in a time of 1:21.29 with the team of B. VanDeer-Wright-Harnett-Weinschenk. Cloe Savitski placed 3rd in the 100m dash in a season-best time of 13.13 seconds, while the 4×100 also placed 3rd in a time of 55.43 with the team of Weinschenk-Hartnett-Wright-Savitski.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows placed 7th in the meet with 46 points, as they had one winner in senior Makayla Beisel, who tied for 1st in the high jump by clearing 5′ even. Beisel would have a flurry of 2nd place finishes, including the long jump with a mark of 16′ 6″, placing 2nd in the 100m hurdles in a time of 16.63, as well as the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:15.67. Harley Charlson would place 4th in the 800m run in a time of 2:55.84, while the 4×800 placed 5th in a time of 12:48.93.
Eagle Grove placed 9th with 34 points and came away with one meet champion, as Addy Jeske won the long jump with a season-best mark of 17′ even. Taytum Edwards would place 3rd in the 200m dash in a time of 28.61, while the Eagles placed 4th in the 4×200 in a time of 2:00 with the team of Jeske-Morgan-Lenning-Edwards. Myka Anderson placed 4th in the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:21.88, while the 4×100 placed 4th in a time of 55.67 with the team of Jeske-Morgan-Lenning-Edwards.
