
The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys track and field team returned to action on Thursday night, as they hosted their annual Cowboy Relays at CGD Middle School. The Cowboys were joined by Belmond-Klemme, Bishop Garrigan, Forest City, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Iowa Falls-Alden, Northwood-Kensett, St. Edmond, West Fork and West Hancock.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would place 10th with 53 points on Thursday, as their top placer was sophomore Chaz Lane, who finished 2nd in the 110m high hurdles in a time of 16.33 seconds. Lane would then tie for 4th in the high jump by clearing 5′ 8″, while the 4×400 placed 4th in a time of 4:13.81. The Cowboys 4×800 would place 4th in a time of 10:10.60, while the sprint medley also placed 4th in a time of 1:43.30. CGD’s distance medley placed 4th in a time of 4:14.58, while the shuttle hurdle team placed 4th in 1:10.19.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys track returns to action on Tuesday, when they compete at the Clear Lake Boys Invitational at Lions Field, beginning at 4:30 PM.
