The Webster City Lynx and Eagle Grove Eagles girls track teams returned to action on Tuesday, as they made the trip to Webster County to compete in the annual Richard Ryan Relays at Southeast Valley’s Athletic Complex in Gowrie. The Lynx and Eagles were joined by the host Jaguars, as well as Carroll, Glidden-Ralston, GTRA, Kuemper Catholic, Manson-Northwest Webster, Newell-Fonda, Paton-Churdan, Pocahontas Area, South Central Calhoun and St. Edmond.
Webster City would place 2nd with 98.5 points on Tuesday with numerous winners. The Lynx’s first win came in the sprint medley in a time of 1:55.92 with the quartet of Wright-Hartnett-Savitski-Grossoehme, before Webster City won the 4×800 in a time of 12:40.22 with the team of L. VanDeer-Soesbe-Davis-Santiago. Cloe Savitski would then win the 100m dash in a time of 13.54 seconds, while Izzy Grossoehme won the 400m dash in a time of 1:01.27. Savitski would follow up with a win in the 200m dash in a time of 27.69. The Lynx would place 2nd in the 4×100 in a time of 53.90 with the team of Savitski-Wright-Hartnett-Grossoehme, while also placing 2nd in the 4×400 in a time of 5:01.27 with the quartet of L. VanDeer-Soesbe-Davis-Reed. Amanda Lahr placed 3rd in the shot put with a throw of 34′ 3″, while Jakaela Cherry placed 3rd in the discuss with a throw of 98′ 4″. Webster City’s distance medley placed 3rd in a time of 5:38.89 wtih the team of Millner-MacRunnel-Reed-Buakham.
Eagle Grove would place 7th with 39 points on Tuesday, as their top placer was senior Addy Jeske, who placed 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 16′ 1″. Eagle Grove’s 4×800 also placed 2nd in a time of 13:55.95 with the team of Calles-Miller-Terwilliger-Page. Taytum Edwards placed 3rd in the 200m dash in a time of 28.98, while the Eagles 4×100 placed 4th in a time of 55.14 with the team of Jeske-Lenning-M. Anderson-Morgan.
Webster City and Eagle Grove girls track return to action on Thursday, when Eagle Grove hosts the Lady Eagle Relays at Gene Hinrichsen Field at 4 PM.
