Webster City girls tennis downs North Polk in Alleman, 7-2

The Webster City Lynx girls tennis team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip down I-35 to Polk County to take on the North Polk Comets at North Polk High School in Alleman. Webster City entered the match at 1-1, while North Polk was opening its 2025 season.

Webster City got off to a slow start as Allie Severe lost the position 1 match 10-1, but the Lynx rallied quickly to dominate the rest of the singles portion of the meet. Olivia Gallentine won in position 2 by a score of 10-5, Alivia Burns won in position 3 by a score of 10-3, Morgan Hackbarth won in position 4 10-2, Cyra Christensen won in position 5 10-5, while Gabbie Sebert won in position 6 10-6.

North Polk would take the opening match of doubles by a score of 10-7 over Olivia Gallentine and Morgan Hackbarth, but the Lynx rebounded as the team of Allie Severe and Alivia Burns won 10-6 in position 2, while Cyra Christensen and Gabbie Sebert won 10-8 in position 3 to solidify a 7-2 win for Webster City.

Webster City girls tennis returns to action on Tuesday when they host Clear Lake at Webster City High School at 4:30 PM.
