Webster City boys soccer thrashes Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, 8-2

The Webster City Lynx boys soccer team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip north into Hancock County to take on the Cardinals of Garner-Hayfield-Ventura in North Central Conference action at GHV High School. Webster City entered at 1-0, while GHV entered at 0-0-1.

Webster City would get off to a good start, tallying 3 goals in the first half, but GHV hung around and scored a goal in the frame as well as the Lynx went up 3-1 at halftime. However, the second half saw the Lynx impose their will on the Cardinals, tallying 5, 2nd half goals in an 8-2 thrashing of GHV.

Senior Eddy Fuentes-Cruz continued his hot start, scoring a hat trick against the Cardinals, adding 2 assists as well. Other goal scorers for Webster City included Geovany Morales Lopez, Wilmer Padilla Chavez, Francisco Ramirez-Carmona and Israel Torres. Conner Peck tallied 5 assists in the match as well.

Webster City boys soccer returns to action on Thursday, when they host Hampton-Dumont-CAL in North Central Conference action at 7:30 PM at Lynx Field.
