Webster City girls tennis falls to St. Edmond at home, 6-3

The Webster City Lynx girls tennis team returned to action on Friday afternoon, as they hosted the Gaels of Fort Dodge, St. Edmond in their North Central Conference opener at Webster City High School.

After an Allie Severe loss (8-2) in position 1, the Lynx reeled off 3 straight singles victories as Olivia Gallentine won 8-3 in position 2, Alivia Burns won 8-6 in position 3 and Morgan Hackbarth won 8-6 in position 4. Cyra Christensen would lose 8-2 in position 5, while Gabbie Sebert would loses 8-5 in position 6, as the match was tied 3-3 going into doubles.

St. Edmond would dominate in the doubles portion, winning the first match 8-5 over Olivia Gallentine and Morgan Hackbarth, before winning in position 2 by a score of 8-6 over Alivia Burns and Allie Severe. Gabbie Sebert and Olivia Bergman would lose an 8-0 match in position 3 as St. Edmond finalized a 6-3 victory.

Webster City tennis returns to action on Monday, when they travel to Alleman to take on North Polk at 4 PM in non-conference action.
