
The Iowa Workforce Development office reported Tuesday that the unemployment rate for Hamilton County stood at a rate of 3.0 percent. This was from the January rate of 3.1 percent. In February,2024 rate for Hamilton County was at 2.3 percent. There were 7,690 people working in Hamilton County in February with 230 people as unemployed. The February unemployment rates for surrounding counties show Boone County at 3.3 percent, Franklin County at 3.8 percent, Hardin County at 3.6 percent, Story County at 2.8 percent, Webster County at 3.6 percent and Wright County at 3.3 percent. Iowa’s unemployment remained steady for February at 3.3 percent which was the same rate in January. Over 1.6 million Iowans were on the job in February with 57,300 unemployed.
