Roland-Story girls track places 2nd in Bondurant-Farrar Co-Ed

The Roland-Story Norsemen girls track team returned to action on Monday, as they made the trip into Polk County to compete in the annual Bondurant-Farrar Co-Ed Early Bird at Bondurant-Farrar High School. The Norsemen would be joined by the host Bluejays, as well as Boone, Des Moines North, Empigo School, Perry, Saydel and Winterset.

Roland-Story’s girls would place 2nd in the meet with 137 points, as the Norsemen brought home a handful of wins. The first came in the long jump, as Adalyn Sporleder won with a jump of 16′ 6″, before the Norsemen won the 4×800 in a time of 11:02.48 with the team of Johnson-Truesdell-M. Petersen-Lande. The shuttle hurdle would capture a win in a time of 1:09.13 with the team of Jondle-Lucas-Scarrow-Helgeson, while Brookelyn Jondle would then win the 100m high hurdles in a time of 17.08. Roland-Story’s final win of the evening came in the 4×200, as the Norsemen won in a time of 1:52.23 with the team of Sporleder-K. Petersen-Reitano-Scarrow.

The Norsemen would get a 2nd place finish from Kara Patterson in the 3000m run in a time of 12:32.77, while Taylor Rechkemmer placed 3rd in the 100m dash in a time of 13.79, Maddi Lucas finished 3rd in the 100m hurdles in a time of 17.81, while the Norsemen’s sprint medley placed 2nd in a time of 1:56.98 with the team of Sporleder-Reitano-Jondle-Petersen. The distance medley also placed 2nd in a time of 5:05.85 with the team of Helgeson-Rechkemmer-Schaben-Vaughn, while Karsyn Lande placed 3rd in the 400m dash in a time of 1:05.77. The 4×400 would place 3rd in a time of 4:41.63, with the team of Vaugh-Larson-Lucas-Ziegler, while Miley Geise placed 4th in the discus with a throw of 100′ 1.75″. Riley Johnson would also place 4th in the 800m run in a time of 2:45.43.

Roland-Story girls track returns to action on Friday, when they host the Roland-Story Co-Ed Meet at Dallas Kray Track in Story City at 4 PM.
