
The Webster City Lynx and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys boys track teams returned to action on Friday, as they made the trip north to Clear Lake to compete in the annual North Iowa Indoor Championships at the Clear Lake Athletic and Wellness Center. The Lynx and Cowboys were joined by the host Lions, as well as Algona, Central Springs, Forest City, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Iowa Falls-Alden, Lake Mills, Nevada, Osage, Riceville, Saint Ansgar and Waverly-Shell Rock.
Webster City would finish 10th with 22 points as the Lynx top placer was junior Justin Callahan, who placed 3rd in the 800m run in a time of 2:07.73. Jayden Weinzetl would place 5th in the 60m dash in a time of 7.12, while also placing 7th in the 200m dash in a time of 23.76. The Lynx would place 5th in the distance medley in a time of 3:54.20 with the team of Weinzetl-Griffith-Hrnicek-Callahan, while the 4×800 also placed 5th in 9:15.65 with the team of Mickelson-Thumma-Barner-Murillo. Webster City’s shuttle hurdle would place 7th in a time of 37.97 with the team of Hrnicek-Griffith-Stansfield-Christensen, while Jaxon Griffith placed 9th in the 60m dash in a time of 7.31. Cole Nohrenberg would place 9th in the shot put with a throw of 43′ 8.75″.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would place 14th with 6.5 points, as their top placer was sophomore Chaz Lane in the 60m hurdles, finishing 7th in a time of 9.17. Lane would also place 7th in the high jump, clearing 5′ 10″, while the Cowboys shuttle hurdle team placed 8th in a time of 38.65 with the team of Lane-Rivera-Duncalf-Lindaman.
Webster City and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows track returns to action on April 8th for the Umstead Relays at Eagle Grove.
