
Webster City Police investigated an accident Saturday evening at 8:15 p.m. at Third and Grove Streets that brought injury to a Webster City woman. Reportedly a 2009 model Chrysler Town and Country minivan operated by Gilberto Andrade-Calles of Webster City was traveling eastbound on Third Street when it accidentally sideswiped a parked 2023 model Toyota Corolla registered to Dawn Obrecht of Webster City. When police arrived, they discovered Obrecht laying on the ground with her right foot pinned under the left front tire of the minivan driven by Andrade-Calles. Investigating officer Dan Watkins ordered Andrade-Calles to back up the minivan so that Obrecht could be freed. The Van Diest Medical Center EMS crew were then dispatched to assist Obrecht for medical treatment of injuries to her foot and hip. She was later transported to a Des Moines hospital for further treatment. Both vehicles were disabled due to the accident. Gilberto Andrade-Calles was charged by Webster City Police with Driving While License Suspended, An SR-22 violation, and Failure to Maintain Control on Saturday night.
