Webster City Police execute search warrant in Animal Neglect Investigation.

Webster City Police on Thursday in collaboration with the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, executed a search warrant at 915 High Street in Webster City.The action was taken as a part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of animal neglect. During the search, authorities rescued eleven animals. The living conditions within the residence were determined to be unsanitary and unsuitable for animal welfare. As a result of the investigation, 58-year-old John Alan Harper of Webster City was charged with Animal Neglect, a Simple Misdemeanor. The animals were taken to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa to receive proper care. The Webster City Police Department was assisted in the operation by the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office , Hamilton County Attorney’s Office and the Webster City Veterinary Clinic. Harper posted bond with a court appearance set for April 1st at 9:00 a.m. in Hamilton County Magistrate Court.
