Duncombe to receive IEDA grant for wastewater treatment plant lagoon improvements.

The Webster County community of Duncombe is one of eight Iowa cities to receive grant awards from the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA). The project in Duncombe is for improvements to the community’s Wastewater Treatment Plant Lagoon.  The amount is for $500,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds better known as CDBG. The program is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The IEDA is responsible for administering the CDBG funds in the non-metropolitan areas of Iowa. The funds enable communities to make needed improvements to water and sewer systems, improve housing conditions for low-income homeowners, provide facilities for disabled and at-risk individuals and make transformative downtown improvements. In addition to Duncombe, the other Iowa communities to receive CDBG funding are Chelsea, Fort Madison, Lawler, McGregor, Mediapolis, Wellman and Yale
