
The Iowa State Patrol investigated a one car accident shortly before 6 Thursday morning at the 132 southbound mile marker of Interstate 35 near Ellsworth in southern Hamilton County. Reportedly a southbound 2003 Saturn L200 operated by Caleb Sagedahl of North Branch,Minnesota struck the cable barrier in the median of the highway. The Sagedahl car then veered back onto the southbound lane and then back into the cable barriers. Sagedahl admitted that he fell asleep at the wheel in the early Thursday accident. The car then came to rest on its wheels facing south tied up in the cable barrier. The accident report stated that the Sagedahl car was totaled. The damage to the cable barrier posts was estimated at $5000. Iowa State Patrol trooper Dennis Schnathorst investigated the accident Thursday morning.
