
The Hamilton County Conservation Board Thursday morning met with Scott Grimm of the Natural Resources Office on the year’s activities in the department. There was a presentation by Environmental Education Coordinator John Laird on the 2024 year with the many programs offered including environmental workshops, Cops and Bobbers program, Fireside Chats and more. The next event is set for Saturday, March 15th,2025 with a Maple Syrup Making and Fundraiser Breakfast at the Briggs Woods Golf Course clubhouse from 9:00 until 11:00.
Over 1000 golf enthusiasts met with the Hamilton County Conservation and Briggs Woods Golf staff at the Minneapolis Convention Center from February 21st to 23rd during the Minnesota Golf Show. The golfers learned about packages offered at the Briggs Woods Golf Course. Over the years, the golfers from the Twin Cities travel to Webster City to kick off the golfing season in Hamilton County before the courses open in the Twin Cities in the latter part of April or early May. The kickoff event for the golf season at the Briggs Woods Club House is set for Friday evening, April 25th with a meal and the information regarding fees, golf leagues and more. With the recent warm up and sunny conditions, area golfers are going to wait a bit before they hit the greens at Briggs Woods. A date for the official opening of the golf season will be announced by the Briggs Woods staff.
There will be a special meeting set for next week to review the conservation budget for 2025-26. The March meeting for the Hamilton County Conservation Board is set for Tuesday,March 25th at 9:30 at the Briggs Woods conservation office south of Webster City.
