Another short meeting for the Hamilton County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday morning. The board approved the hiring of Monica Martinez as a full-time dispatcher and jailer for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department with Caleb Allen Scott hired as a part time county jailer. The supervisors announced there will be no change in the cost of health insurance for Hamilton County employees due to the implementation of the wellness program for staff. There will be a slight increase in costs for the dental and visual insurance for those employees who signed up for the policies. A retail alcohol license for the Rustic Rose Barn,LLC located southeast of Randall near the Hamilton-Story County line.  Over 20 Slough Bill applications were approved by supervisors Mary Clausen and Rick Young with supervisor April Ely abstaining.

Hamilton County engineer Ryan Weidemann commended the work by the county road crews last week to remove the snow off county roads and highways despite the bitter cold conditions. This Friday,February 28th is the last day to apply for the Hamilton County Hotel Motel Tax Grants for 2025. There is information on how to apply for a grant at the Hamilton County Economic Development website.
