
The South Hamilton Hawks wrestling team returned to action on Saturday, as they hosted their Class 1A District 9 Tournament at South Hamilton High School in Jewell. The Hawks were joined by AC/GC, AGWSR, Don Bosco, Manson-Northwest Webster, North Tama, Ogden, Pocahontas Area, South Central Calhoun and St. Edmond.
South Hamilton would not be able to qualify any athletes for the State Tournament, with their highest placers coming with a pair of 4th-place finishes. Holden Moore placed 4th at 126, dropping his 3rd place match to North Tama’s Drayke Dvorak by fall. Gaige Willis would place 4th at 215, as Willis lost his 3rd place match to AC/GC’s Michael Fuller by fall.
The Hawks would place 10th with 23 points, as Don Bosco claimed the district title, scoring 267.5 points and winning the title by over 100 points with AC/GC in 2nd with 162.5 points.
