
The South Hamilton Hawks girls basketball team returned to action on Saturday night, as they made the trip east on Highway 20 to take on the Dike-New Hartford Wolverines in Class 2A, Region 4 action at Dike-New Hartford High School. South Hamilton entered at 6-15, while Dike-New Hartford entered at 8-14.
Dike-New Hartford was able to push to a 13-6 lead after the first quarter, extending the lead to 32-13 at halftime. South Hamilton answered with a good 3rd quarter offensively, to cut the lead to 41-26, but Dike-New Hartford took control back in the 4th to capture a 56-33 win.
Claire Hewitt led the Hawks with 10 points, while Tessa Skartvedt had 6 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Izzy Norton led Dike-New Hartford with 14 points.
South Hamilton’s season comes to an end with a record of 6-16.
