Hamilton County Supervisors approve Fort Dodge Asphalt bid for work on a county road project Tuesday morning.

It took less than ten minutes for Hamilton County Board of Supervisors to breeze through their meeting Tuesday morning. The board accepted the bid from Fort Dodge Asphalt for $4,335,042  for asphalt work  on Stagecoach Road . The work will cover a stretch of 17 miles on the roadway in western Hamilton County beginning at the Hamilton Webster County line through Stratford on north to Highway 20. There were four other bids for the asphalt project from Central Specialties,Incorporated, Hennigar Construction, Manatt’s Incorporated and Heartland Asphalt. Hamilton County Engineer Ryan Weidemann said he was satisfied with the bids with the work to begin at a date to be announced.

Due to the  absence of  Supervisor Chairman Rick Young, the board tabled the Fiscal Year 2025 budget hearing and appropriations until the March 11th board session.

The supervisors thanked the following county employees  for their years of service. Deb Alexander celebrating two years with Hamilton County Conservation, Beau Crystal with one year with the Hamilton County Treasurer’s office,Brenda Middlestadt with two years of service to Hamilton County Conservation and Luanne Paper with 47 years with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Hamilton County Conservation  Director Brian Lammers informed that a group from Briggs Woods Golf Course will be attending the Minnesota Golf Show in Minneapolis on February 21 to 23 to promote the golf course. Briggs Woods Golf Course welcomes golfers from the Twin Cities  area each year in the early spring  to get ready to tee off.
