No injuries in two vehicle accident near Otho Wednesday morning.

A two vehicle accident two miles south of Otho on Nelson Avenue at 6:20 Wednesday morning was investigated by the Iowa State Patrol. Reportedly a southbound 2019 Chrysler  Pacifica minivan operated by Jill Bintz of Dayton was slowimg down due to an existing crash. The Otho Fire Department was providing traffic control  alternating traffic control past the crash. As Bintz was slowing to make a stop, a southbound 2008 Dodge R-15 pickup truck driven by Taelynn Slawson of Waterloo approached and failed to stop in an assured clear distance,colliding with the Bintz van. There were no injuries in the Wednesday accident. Damage to both the Bintz and Slawson vehicles was estimated at $500 each. Investigating Iowa State Patrol trooper Neil Morenz cited Taelynn Slawson with Failure to Stop in an Assured Clear  Distance and Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.
