Two motor vehicle accidents were investigated by the Iowa State Patrol on Wednesday evening in Webster County.
A one vehicle accident at Xavier Avenue and 14t0 Street east of Vincent was reported at 5:30 p.m. Reportedly an eastbound 2002 Jeep Liberty SUV operated by Reikel Pena Romero of Fort Dodge lost control due to the icy conditions. The Romero SUV entered the north ditch and rolled over where it came to rest. The driver was transported to Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge by the Vincent EMS Ambulance. The SUV was totaled in the Wednesday evening crash. A charge of Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability was filed against Reikel Pena Romero.
The second accident of Wednesday evening happened at 2403 Riverside Trail south of Fort Dodge at 9:09 p.m. Reportedly a south bound 2004 model Buick LeSabre driven by Greyson Chance of Fort Dodge was on Riverside Trail when the car drove over the ice,lost control and landed in the east ditch. The Chance car went through the brush and then approximately 15 feet to the river bed, striking the ground. The accident report stated that half of the car came to rest in the water. Damage to the Chance car was totaled in the accident. No injuries were reported.
Both of the Wednesday evening accidents were investigated by Iowa State Patrol trooper Jesse Davenport. The Webster County Sheriff’s Department assisted at both accident locations.
