Webster City, Roland-Story wrestling compete in Norsemen Duals on Saturday

The Webster City Lynx and Roland-Story Norsemen wrestling teams returned to action on Saturday, as they competed in the annual Norsemen Duals at Roland-Story High School in Story City. The Lynx and Norsemen were joined by Central Decatur, Estherville-Lincoln Central, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, OABCIG, Saydel and West Marshall.

Webster City finished the day with a record of 2-2, opening with a 71-6 loss to Estherville-Lincoln Central, with the lone win coming from a Tristan Mason pin at 157. The Lynx followed up with 44-26 loss to West Marshall, with wins from Dawson Bertran (138), Tristan Mason (157), Eli Estlund (190), Cael Alexander (285) and Ty Bingham (106).

The Lynx picked up their first win against Saydel by a score of 42-7, with wins coming from Ridge Berninghaus (144), Tristan Mason (157), Carson Bertran (175), Cael Alexander (285), Ty Bingham (106), Gavin Wynkoop (132) and Dawson Bertran (138). Webster City would then knock off Central Decatur for their final match by a score of 41-35 with wins from Tristan Mason (157), Carson Bertran (175), Eli Estlund (190), Cael Alexander (285), Ty Bingham (106), Gavin Wynkoop (132) and Ridge Berninghaus (144).

Roland-Story would also finish 2-2 on the day, opening with a 58-24 win over Central Decatur. The Norsemen picked up wins from Blake Loof (132), Isaac Hall (150), Kale Kadolph (157), Colin Grundlingh (175), Chance Georgius (190), Wes Hansen (215), Jake Rogers (285) and Konnor Blume (106), Cy Wilson (120) and Caiden Latch (126). Roland-Story would follow with a 66-15 thrashing of OABCIG with wins coming from Brady Long (138), Kale Kadolph (157), Tyler Lamber (165), Colin Grundlingh (175), Chance Georgius (190), Wes Hansen (215), Jake Rogers (285), Konnor Blume (106), Cy Wilson (120), Caiden Latch (126) and Blake Loof (132).

The Norsemen would then fall to Hampton-Dumont-CAL by a score of 45-25, with wins coming from Chance Georgius (190), Wes Hansen (215), Jake Rogers (285), Noah Healy (113) and Caiden Latch (126). The day concluded with a 43-28 loss to West Marshall, with wins from Colin Grundlingh (175), Roman Stotts (215), Wes Hansen (285), Konnor Blume (106) and Brady Long (138).

Webster City wrestling returns to action on Tuesday, when they travel to Van Meter to compete in a quad dual with the Bulldogs, Knoxville and Oskaloosa in non-conference action at 5:30 PM. Roland-Story returns to action on February 15th, when they compete in their Class 2A District Tournament at Webster City High School at 10 AM.
