Webster City girls wrestling competes in state regional meet in Mason City on Friday

The Webster City Lynx girls wrestling team returned to action on Friday, as they made the drive to Cerro Gordo County to compete in their Class 2A, Region 6 tournament at Mason City High School. The Lynx were joined by the host Riverhawks, as well as Cedar Rapids Washington, Clear Lake, Fort Dodge, Marshalltown, Waterloo West and Waverly-Shell Rock.

Webster City would place 8th with 9.5 points on Friday, as Marlee Thompson was the lone Lynx place winner, finishing 1-2 at 115 pounds, her lone win coming by an 18-1 tech fall over Adele Beek of Marshalltown.

Mason City was the team regional champion with 211 points, while Waverly-Shell Rock was 2nd with 205.5 points.
