Eagle Grove wrestling places 11th in Charger Invitational

The Eagles Grove Eagles wrestling team returned to action on Saturday, as they made the drive into Guthrie County to compete in the annual Charger Invitational at AC/GC High School in Guthrie Center. The Eagles were joined by the host Chargers, as well as AHSTW, Central Springs, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Earlham, East Sac County, Emmetsburg, Greene County, Manson-Northwest Webster, Nevada, Nodaway Valley, North Polk, Ogden, Panorama, Perry, Pleasantville, Riverside (Oakland), Saint Ansgar, Southeast Polk JV, Southeast Valley, Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas, Wayne, West Central Valley and Woodward-Granger.

Eagle Grove would place 11th on Saturday with 93 points, as 3 different Eagles would place 4th on the day. The first was Dylan Terwilliger at 120 pounds, going 4-2 on the day with 2 pins, a tech fall and a major decision, as he lost by fall in the 3rd place match to Waylon Logue of Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas.

Hayden Schafer would place 4th at 157 pounds, going 3-2 on the day with 2 decisions and a major decision, as Schaffer lost a 4-1 decision in the 3rd place match to Central Springs’s Caden Gibbons.

Jesus Baez would then place 4th at 285 pounds, finishing 4-2 on the day with 3 pins and a decision. Baez would loses by fall in the 3rd place match to Perry’s Narcisco Hidalgo. Jayden Kreitlow would place 5th at 175 pounds, going 3-2 on the day with 2 pins and winning by medical forfeit in the 5th place match.

Eagle Grove wrestling returns to action on Saturday, as they host the Eagle Grove Duals at Eagle Grove Elementary School beginning at 10 AM.
