The Eagle Grove Eagles girls wrestling team returned to action on Friday, as they made the drive into far northern Iowa to compete in their Class 1A, Region 4 meet at Osage High School. The Eagles were joined by the host Green Devils, as well as Charles City, Crestwood, Decorah, Emmetsburg, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Humboldt, Lake Mills, MFL MarMac, Nashua-Plainfield, New Hampton/Turkey Valley, North Butler-Clarksville, Northwood-Kensett, Riceville, Sumner-Fredericksburg, Tripoli and West Fork.
Eagle Grove would place 16th with 18 team points on Friday, as their lone placers was Jaymie Anderson at 120 pounds, who finished 4th. Anderson would go 2-2 with pinfall wins over Lake Mills’s Faith Stene and Humboldt’s Emilie Schriber, losing by fall to Riceville’s Tori Keonigs in the 3rd place match.
Catherine Orozco would go 1-2 at 105, while Keylyee Collins went 0-2 at 125 pounds.
Osage would be the team champions with 235 points, while Decorah was 2nd with 205 points.
