Clarion-Goldfield-Dows basketball falls just short at Iowa Falls-Alden, 74-70

The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys basketball team returned to action on Friday night, as they made the trip east into Hardin County to take on the Cadets of Iowa Falls-Alden in North Central Conference action at Iowa Falls-Alden High School. CGD entered with a record of 6-11, while IF-A entered at 7-9.

Offense would come early for the Cowboys, putting up 19 points in the first quarter to take a 19-14 lead, but IF-A answered in the 2nd to take a 31-28 halftime lead. Both offense put up big numbers in the 3rd, with the Cadets leading 56-51, as the Cowboys comeback bid would fall short by a score of 74-70.

Chaz Lane would lead the Cowboys with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Huxley Lingenfelter had 18 points and Johnny Lomeli had 16 points. Kale Kalous led the Cadets with 25 points.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows basketball returns to action on Monday night, as they host Algona in North Central Conference action at 7:45 PM.
