The Webster City Lynx wrestling team returned to action on Thursday night, as they made the trip into Story County to take on the Ballard Bombers and Clarke Indians in non-conference action at Ballard High School in Huxley.
Webster City opened the night with a 54-30 win over Clarke, as the Lynx won 7 of the 9 matches wrestled. The Lynx picked up pinfall wins from Carson Burtnett (126), Gavin Wynkoop (132), Dawson Bertran (144), Juan Raymundo (165), Carson Bertran (175), Eli Estlund (190) and Cael Alexander (285), while getting forfeit wins from Lincoln Brookshire (113) and Jaysen Vankham (138).
The Lynx then followed up with a 64-13 defeat at the hands of Ballard to wrap up the night. Webster City saw 3 winners on Thursday, including a Gavin Wynkoop decision win at 132, a Carson Bertran major decision at 175, and a Carson Burtnett pin at 126.
Webster City wrestling returns to action on Saturday, when they compete in the Norsemen Duals at Roland-Story High School, beginning at 10 AM.
