After an absence of a year, the Hamilton County Peace Officers Association Citizen Academy returns this spring for a four-week program. The academy will be offered at the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in the Hamilton County Courthouse from March 20th through April 10th on Thursday evenings from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. If you want to get a first hand look at what it takes to work in law enforcement, you are invited to take part in this course. This will offer a chance to meet the law officers from Hamilton County. The course is free of charge. Topics to be covered will be patrol procedures, K9 and drones, communications and 911, Jail versus Prison and OWI investigations. The application deadline is March 14th.
