Eagle Grove basketball swept in home TOIW doubleheader with Bishop Garrigan

The Eagle Grove Eagles basketball teams returned to action on Friday night, as they hosted the Golden Bears of Bishop Garrigan in Top of Iowa West action at Eagle Grove Elementary School. Eagle Grove’s girls entered at 1-14, while Eagle Grove’s boys entered at 6-9.

Eagle Grove’s girls faced a tall-task at the hands of the 4th-ranked team in 1A, as Bishop Garrigan turned defense into offense early to come away with a 62-17 win. Eagle Grove stats were not available on Bound as of Monday afternoon, while Gracelyn Eastman led Garrigan with 15 points.

The Eagle Grove boys looked to bounce back from their loss to Belmond-Klemme on Tuesday night, but the Golden Bears of Garrigan had other plans as they kept the Eagles at arms length all night to come away with a 57-36 win.

Jaxon Morris led the Eagles with 13 points, while Josh Miller had 5 points and 10 rebounds. Amaury Thomas led Garrigan with 18 points.

Eagle Grove basketball returns to action on Tuesday night, when they travel to Lake Mills to take on the Bulldogs in Top of Iowa West action at 6:15 PM.
