Catholic Schools Week comes to St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary starting Monday, January 27th.

St. Thomas Aquinas School is preparing for the annual observance of Catholic Schools Week starting this  Monday.Principal Theresa Schleisman said the theme for this year’s event is “United in Faith and Community”with 115 students attending classes from pre school to sixth grade.
There will be theme days for the students at St. Thomas Aquinas each day. On Monday,January 27, the students will deliver cookies to the businesses of Webster City who support the school. KQWC FM 95.7 will have a live broadcast Monday afternoon at 2:00 from the Parish Center as we speak with the students and staff about what they like about St. Thomas Aquinas School. On Tuesday, there will be a spelling bee sponsored by the Webster City Knights of Columbus. The top finishers from grades 4, 5 and 6 will go to a further competiton in March in Waukee. Wednesday will be the Student Mass in the church at 8:30 a.m.to be led by the sixth grade class. Father Francis Anane and Deacon Dan Hurt will meet with the students Wednesday as what made them decide to serve the parish.
On Thursday the students and staff will board buses for a trip to the Met Theater in Iowa Falls to watch the movie ‘E.T.” in the morning.
A root beer float party is set for Friday,January 31st for the students.
The week wraps up Saturday,February 1st with the Mass at 5:00p.m. and a chili and soup supper in the Parish Center at approximately 6:00 p.m. The meal is open to the public.
