The Roland-Story Norsemen wrestling team returned to action on Saturday morning, as they made the trip into Dallas County to compete in the ADM Tournament at ADM High School in Adel. The Norsemen were joined by the host Tigers, as well as Ames, Clarke, Council Bluffs Jefferson, Dallas Center-Grimes, Iowa Falls-Alden, Nevada, Red Oak, Southeast Polk and Waukee Northwest.
Roland-Story would place 6th in the tournament with 121 points, with the top placer in sophomore Caiden Latch, who finished runner-up at 126. Latch pinned ADM’s Logan Connick and tech-falled Council Bluffs Jefferson’s Noah Phillips before losing by fall to Ames’s Christian Castillo in the final.
Konnor Blume would place 3rd at 106, winning by fall over ADM’s Dain Holdmeyer before losing by major decision to Iowa Falls-Alden’s Zane Gillespie. Blume bounced back by winning by fall over Southeast Polk’s Brecken Aguinga and pinning Waukee Northwest’s Braden Barr to clinch 3rd.
Kael Ammerman also placed 3rd at 120, pinning Waukee Northwest’s Zane Wick before losing a 6-2 decision to Clarke’s Bowen Page. Ammerman bounced back winning his 3rd place match in a 2nd bout over Waukee Northwest’s Zane Wick by fall.
The Norsemen got 4th place finishes from Colin Grundlingh at 175 and Greysun Lein at 144, as well as 5th place finishes from Brady Long at 132, Chance Georgius at 190 and Roman Stotts at 215. Noah Healy would place 6th at 133 as well.
Roland-Story wrestling returns to action on Friday for the Heart of Iowa Conference Tournament at Roland-Story High School, beginning on Friday afternoon.
