The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys wrestling teams returned to action on Saturday morning, as they made the drive into northeast Iowa to compete in the Doc Carr Duals at New Hampton High School. The Cowboys were joined by the host Chickasaws, AP-GC, Waterloo West and Denver.
CGD opened with a 63-18 win over AP-GC, with pinfall wins from Paxton Redenius (113), Linden Phetxoumphone (120), Adrian Phetxoumphone (132), Jamie Steffenson (138), Caden Hauenstein (150), Charlie Campbell (190) and Cole Wibholm (106). The Cowboys picked up tech fall wins from Ryan Hartwig (126), Caleb Seaba (165) and Ryland Morgan (175) and a forfeit from JT Kelso (285).
The Cowboys followed with a 66-15 win over Waterloo West, with pinfall wins from Linden Phetxoumphone (120), Ryan Hartwig (126), Adrian Phetxoumphone (132), Colin Sesker (144), Caleb Seaba (165), Ryland Morgan (175), Charlie Campbell (190), Traesyn Cope (215), JT Kelso (285), Cole Wibholm (106) and Paxton Redenius (113).
The 3rd bout of the day saw CGD take down the hosts in New Hampton-Turkey Valley by a score of 57-23, with pinfall wins from Paxton Redenius (113), Linden Phetxoumphone (120), Colin Sesker (144), Ryland Morgan (165), Charlie Campbell (190) and JT Kelso (285). The Cowboys picked up tech fall wins from Ryan Hartwig (126), Adrian Phetxoumphone (138) and Caleb Seaba (157).
Denver would be the final opponent for the Cowboys, as CGD came away with a 48-28 win. CGD picked up pinfall wins from Cole Wibholm (106), Linden Phetxoumphone (120), Lucas Cayler (132), Adrian Phetxoumphone (138), Colin Sesker (144) and Ryland Morgan (165). Decision wins were also picked up by Caden Hauenstein at 150 and JT Kelso at 285.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows wrestling returns to action on Monday, when they travel to Jewell to take on South Hamilton and West Hancock at a tri-dual meet at South Hamilton High School at 6 PM.
