The Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys wrestling team returned to action on Tuesday night, as they made the short trek to Fort Dodge to compete in a quad dual at St. Edmond High School. The Cowboys were joined by the host Gaels, as well as Forest City and Don Bosco.
CGD would defeat St. Edmond in a 78-6 landslide, as the Cowboys won 2 of the 3 matches wrestled as JT Kelso (285) and Adrian Phetxoumphone (132) won their matches by pinfall. All other Cowboy wrestlers won by forfeit.
The Cowboys would then dominate Forest City by a score of 68-11, as CGD picked up pinfall wins from Colin Sesker (144), Jaxen Engstrom (157), Ryland Morgan (175), Charlie Campbell (190), Paxton Redenius (113) and Ryan Hartwig (138). Caleb Seaba (157) and Adrian Phetxoumphone (132) would win their matches by tech fall, while Mason Warnke (150) won by major decision.
A highly-anticipated matchup with Don Bosco ended the night as CGD took down the Dons by a score of 42-36. The Cowboys picked up pinfall wins from Caleb Seaba (157) and Adrian Phetxoumphone (132), as well as decision wins from Colin Sesker (150) and Cole Wibholm (106). CGD would get forfeit wins from Ryland Morgan (175), Charlie Campbell (190), JT Kelso (285) and Linden Phetxoumphone (126).
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows wrestling returns to action on Saturday, when they compete in the Doc Carr Duals at New Hampton High School, beginning at 10 AM.
