South Hamilton School Board set February 10th for school calendar hearing.

The South Hamilton Community School Board Monday evening set the date of February 10 for the public hearing on the 2025-26 school calendar. There were recommendations presented to the board regarding parent teacher conferences, and professional development meetings. The calendar for 2025-26 will be released to the public next month.
There was the approval of special education services from Heartland Area Education Agency beginning with the 2025-26 school year.The School Budget Review Committee request for additional modified supplemental amount for at risk/dropout prevention in the amount of $239,359 was approved at Monday’s meeting. TheSouth Hamilton Staff Wellness Program for 2024-25 and an allocation of $5000 to a wellness fund was accepted.
Jay Moline and Tony Babcock were appointed to serve on the South Hamilton Board Negotiation Team to work a new contract for school staff for the 2025-26 school year.
An opertional superintendent sharing agreemend with the United Community School District of rural Boone was discussed at the Monday meeting for the 2025-26 school year.The superintendent would provide services to the United district three full days on-site every two weeks.
In personnel matters, the South Hamilton Board accepted the resignation of Nathan Ferrie as High School Boys Cross Country Coach. Hiring for the district include Doug Sogard as the 7th and 8th Boys Basketball Coach, Darrell Paulsen as High School Boys Cross Country Coach and High School Girls Track Coach.
Radon testing is scheduled for the week of January 20th with minor repairs to the school HVAC system to begin in the next few weeks.
