(3A) #9 Roland-Story girls basketball routs Clear Lake, 67-29

The Roland-Story Norsemen girls basketball team returned to action on Monday night, as they hosted the Clear Lake Lions in non-conference action at Roland-Story High School in Story City. The Norsemen girls entered at 9-2 and ranked #9 in Class 3A, while Clear Lake entered at 3-7.

Roland-Story wasted little time in jumping ahead of the Lions, leading 17-5 after the first quarter, and extending the lead to 29-10 at halftime. Clear Lake’s offense would keep them in the game in the 3rd quarter, but Roland-Story would put up a 22-point 4th quarter to clinch a 67-29 win.

Sophomore Riley Johnson had a big night with a game-high 20 points, with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Claire Truesdell finished with 12 points, while Madi Ott led Clear Lake with 13 points and 16 rebounds.

Roland-Story basketball returns to action on Tuesday night, when they travel to Des Moines to take on the Grand View Christian Thunder in Heart of Iowa Conference action at 6 PM.
