Webster City wrestling goes 1-3 in Allie Morrison Duals in Marshalltown

The Webster City Lynx wrestling team returned to action on Saturday morning, as they made the trip into Marshall County to compete in the annual Allie Morrison Duals Tournament at Marshalltown High School. The Lynx were joined by the host Bobcats, as well as Cedar Falls, Johnston, North Polk, Sioux City East and Southeast Polk.

Webster City opened with a 47-21 loss to Cedar Falls, as the Lynx picked up wins by major decision from Gavin Wynkoop (132), Dawson Bertran (138) and Eli Estlund (190), and wins by decision from Tristan Mason (150) and Carson Bertran (175).

The Lynx would follow up with an 80-0 loss to Johnston, before bouncing back with a 51-26 win over Sioux City East. Webster City would pick up wins by pinfall from Blake Berninghaus (157), Carson Bertran (175), Cole Bingham (106), Carson Burtnett (126), and Dawson Bertran (138). The Lynx also got a win by decision from Ridge Berninghaus (144), with wins by forfeit from Eli Estlund (190), Cody Elliott (215) and Tristan Mason (150).

Webster City ended the day with a 57-12 loss to North Polk in the 5th place match. The Lynx picked up a win by pinfall from Carson Bertran (175), with decision wins from Eli Estlund (190) and Tristan Mason (150).

Webster City wrestling returns to action on Thursday, when they travel to Iowa Falls to take on Iowa Falls-Alden and Humboldt in a North Central Conference tri dual beginning at 6 PM.
