Roland-Story wrestling places 7th at Forest City Tournament

The Roland-Story Norsemen wrestling team returned to action on Saturday morning, as they made the trip into far northern Iowa to compete in the Forest City Invitational at Forest City High School. The Norsemen were joined by the host Indians, as well as Algona, Charles City, Clear Lake, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, North Butler/Clarksville, North Fayette Valley, Okoboji/HMS and West Fork.

Caiden Latch had the top day for the Norsemen, placing 2nd at 126 lbs, winning by fall in the quarterfinals over Clear Lake’s Jeseb Prestholt, before tech falling North Fayette Valley’s Kyson Moss in the semifinals. Latch would lose by major decision to Algona’s Isaac Wilson in the final.

Wes Hansen would also place 2nd for Roland-Story at 215 lbs, winning by fall over Okoboji/HMS’s Riley Mattingly in the quarterfinals, before pinning North Fayette Valley’s Emmanuel Hernandez in the semifinals. Hansen would lose by fall to Algona’s Foster Myhre in the title match.

Isaac Hall would place 4th at 150, while Roman Stotts also placed 4th at 215. Blake Loof also placed 4th at 132. Colin Grundlingh placed 5th at 175, while Konnor Blume (106), Noah Healy (113), Brady Long (138) and Greysun Lein (157) placed 6th.

Roland-Story finished 7th with 90 points, Norsemen wrestling returns to action on Thursday, when they host Perry and Grand View Christian for a Heart of Iowa Conference tri dual at 6 PM at Roland-Story High School.
